Frequently asked questions.

What to Expect in Your First Appointment?

During your first appointment, we will take the time to get to know each other and develop an initial assessment. This involves asking questions about your past experiences, current circumstances, and future goals, including aspects such as your childhood, family, relationships, work, hobbies, and any symptoms or difficulties you may be experiencing. We will also discuss privacy, confidentiality, and any limits to confidentiality during this session.

Can I Bring My Baby to My Session?

Absolutely! While you’re at my practice, you’re welcome to feed your baby (bottle, breast, or tube) and provide comfort however and whenever you need. However, for privacy, confidentiality, and safety reasons, children cannot be brought into your session or left unsupervised in the waiting area.

What If I Need to Cancel or Reschedule an Appointment?

I aim to be flexible, and we always try to fill last-minute cancellations to avoid charging a fee. However, making therapy a priority is important for your well-being, and we often have other clients on a waiting list. Please note that cancellations made within 24 hours or missed appointments will incur a $100 fee.

Do I Need a Referral to Book an Appointment?

No, you do not need a referral or a Mental Health Treatment Plan unless you wish to claim Medicare rebates for your sessions. If you plan to obtain a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP, please book a ‘long’ appointment or inform them that the appointment is for a Mental Health Treatment Plan and referral to ensure enough time for completion.

Do You Offer Telehealth Sessions?

Yes, I am happy to provide telehealth sessions via phone or video. However, clients must be in a private, secure, and quiet location with a stable phone signal or internet connection at the time of their appointment.

What Payment Options Do You Offer?

Client credit card details are securely stored on file, and all payments are processed automatically and electronically. Clients who prefer not to store their credit card details must pay via direct deposit at least two business days before their session. Please note that we do not accept cash, cheques, or in-person card payments.

Do You Provide Letters or Reports for Court or Legal Matters?

No, I do not provide letters or reports related to court or legal matters.
